Copywriting and content creation

As an adult, I’ve been fortunate to have found a career based in writing and content. After graduating with a degree in English Literature, I was hired as a copy editor at a supercomputing e-zine. Since then, I have held various positions working in corporate content, with a particularly heavy focus on marketing and advertising in the health, wellness, and fitness industry. Outside of my career, I’ve written some more personal things as well, which you can find below.

When it comes down to it, ideas excite me. Whether it was a thesis I developed in college, a campaign slogan formed through the creative process at work, or a line of poetry that was borne out of some nugget of inspiration, I’ve always felt energized by the written word.

Thanks for taking the time to read some of my work.

Ever since I could remember, I wanted to write. It started with stories in elementary school—a man who had a Midas touch but, instead of gold, he turned everything into hamburgers; a farmer who found himself fighting alien electricity devourers; and towns terrorized by evil, sentient scarecrows (I was clearly influenced by Stephen King at an early age!).

The link to the left was a submission of mine that was published as part of Atticus Review’s call for entries titled “Superunknown: Stories About Songs,” which itself was inspired after the death of Chris Cornell, one of my favorite musicians.

The link to the left is a personal essay I wrote about the lonesome death of my former stepfather, and what it was like to put him to rest when no one else could.
